How do we handle going on vacation or going out to a restaurant?

You can still succeed. Use your food list and guide to mimic portion sizes and types of foods and preparation techniques.
I don’t like one of the foods listed. What do I do?

No problem, go to the Food List and find the food group for the item in question. Find a food you do like, match the portion size.
Can I have coffee, wine, chocolate, etc?

I still have cravings! Are you having coffee first thing in the morning and delaying breakfast?

Try delaying the coffee until after breakfast in order to balance your blood sugar. Also, never go more than 3-4 hours without eating-even if you are not feeling hungry.
Can I eat at night? 

Sure! But let’s look at the reasons WHY you are eating at night. Are you truly hungry or are you bored and a “night snacker”. Try to add a small amount of protein with a quality carbohydrate (apple and nut-butter or cheese and whole grain crackers)
